Whether they are scientists, pilots, astronauts or subject matter experts — Women@NASA are key to fulfilling our mission. For Women’s History Month, we are highlighting Joan Higginbotham, a multitalented contributor. Originally beginning her career in 1987 as an electrical engineer at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, she was selected as an astronaut candidate in 1996, and flew on the STS-116 mission, logging over 308 hours in space. She retired in 2007.
